Literature Text
Listen,
Listen to my words now,
Though they have been locked up for so long,
I have changed my mind to be bolder,
So now I speak of all that hurts me,
So people will listen to what they don't know,
And teach them about their ignorance,
What makes me so upset,
I hope something changes,
That it mattered that I spoke,
For the longest time I was a listener,
Quiet, attentive, and barely visible,
An observer, not someone who made changes,
I was weak and afraid,
That I may get hurt or do no good,
But I'm tired of it all,
So now I will speak out,
With power and conviction,
To talk about,
Wrongs done to me and others,
Though it may seem I should have done something before,
Now I will stand on this box,
And with a loud voice cry out,
So listen,
Listen to the words I speak now.

Where Have You Gone?
Where have you gone, lover of mine?
Where have you been, this unending time?
Have you gone on a train, to a place far away,
Where the mountains sing and the sycamores sway?
Have you taken a boat to an island alone,
Where you sit and you think as you toss a cool stone?
Have you leaped on a plane to see new skies,
Where you watch shining stars with tired, worn eyes?
Have you just walked along roads with rotting old signs,
Where the locals count up your hard liquor fines?
Have you met someone new, sweet, and bright,
Who listens to your stories until late at night?
Have you made a friend that lends a hand,
Who will be by your side in the dirt a

To all like a displayed book -
Just doing my job
Plastic
Jaw dropping looks, she’s
Only a Barbie doll; her Ken’s
Deadbeat and older.
Make Up Your Mind
Brain pulled both ways, a
Simple choice now fashioned with
Lack of decision.

that one...
That one…
That one girl that you wished for
That one girl that you lived for
That one girl that you’d die for
And the one girl you missed your chance for…
We want what we can’t have
It’s all the same with love
The one that makes you wish you had
The one that makes you cry
The one that makes you love her more
And the one that makes you fly
If you love her more than the world
You should never let her go
Because if she gets away from you
You will never forgive yourself
That one girl that you wished for
That one girl that you lived for
The one girl that you’d die for
And the one girl you missed your chance

Revised edition of this poem: fav.me/d710ean
I wrote this with a strong message in mind. I was inspired by the song Brave by Sara Bareilles.
